About the role

The Singapore Rail Academy (SGRA) has been set up to develop, implement and quality-assure the training standards, competency and curricula frameworks for the operations and maintenance workforce of the local rail industry, and to develop common training courses for rail systems engineers. As Manager, Standard & Curriculum, you will plan and manage the harmonisation, development and upkeep of these frameworks, the development of common training courses and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Work with rail operators, LTA divisions and experts to harmonise, develop and maintain training standards, competency and curricula frameworks
• Develop common training courses, including programme design, content development and periodic reviews
• Plan quality assurance and manage audits on curriculum, process and compliance
• Explore new pedagogy and technology for more effective learning
• Collaborate with higher education institutes on continued education and training courses
• Benchmark against industry and international best practices
• Maintain relationships with subject matter experts locally and globally, and source experts to deliver talks, seminars and training

Required profile

• At least 5 years of working experience, preferably in training for rail engineering, operations and maintenance
• Knowledge of engineering
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills, and ability to develop new plans and initiatives, including using technology in learning
• Team player who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Medical declaration and/or further assessment may be required during shortlisting

Required skills

• Familiarity with WSQ and the Skills Framework (SFw)
• Implementing engineering competency frameworks
• Instructional design, evaluation and assessment
• ACTA certification and experience in a learning and development environment are an advantage
