Manager/Senior Manager, Resource and Carbon Division

About the role

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a government agency under the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, promotes Singapore's position as a global centre for business, innovation and talent. Its Resource and Carbon Division (RCD) works with internal and external stakeholders to develop policies and products that promote the competitive and sustainable use of key resources for industry, covering land, electricity, water, environment and greenhouse gas emissions. The RCD develops resource-use policies and frameworks, manages resource trade-offs across industry sub-sectors, galvanises climate action and plans for long-term resource needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, analyse data and recommend actions to guide planning and policy decisions for Singapore's resources
• Prepare policy papers and presentations for management and government stakeholders
• Develop, manage and review resource efficiency incentives supporting business needs and Singapore's resource policies
• Communicate Singapore's resource policies to businesses and engage them in resource efficiency and emissions reduction projects
• Engage industrial real estate developers and/or energy services companies to identify solutions for businesses

Required profile

• Degree in Economics, Science, Engineering or another relevant discipline
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar or relevant role
• Interest in policy development and willingness to implement policy changes and projects
• Ability to engage manufacturing, exportable services, industrial real estate and energy services companies in one-to-one and group settings
• Ability to understand Singapore's needs and develop appropriate solutions
