Manufacturing Biotechnologist - Train and Place Programme

About the role

Roche offers a Career Conversion Programme (Train-and-Place) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives and Professionals, jointly supported by Workforce Singapore and the Workforce Advancement Federation. It builds the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore's biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry and includes 15 months of local attachment at Roche.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Biochemical Manufacturing Department and help meet its goals and objectives.
• Complete assigned tasks such as preparing small equipment, cleaning and sterilising vessels, preparing solutions, operating biochemical processing equipment, sampling raw materials and environmental samples, and maintaining housekeeping in line with safety, cGMP and manufacturing guidelines.
• Prioritise work, document it according to approved manufacturing formulae, and support process improvement.
• Use computers for process control and data entry.
• Take part in staff and shift-change meetings and work closely with other shift personnel and external support groups.
• Report safety incidents and near misses promptly and support incident investigations.
• Follow all safety, health and environmental requirements, site security measures and the Lean Production System, applying continuous improvement tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, or equivalent qualifications such as a Diploma, NITEC or similar.
• Experience in biologics is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
