Manufacturing Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

As a Manufacturing Buyer you will execute purchases of components and raw materials, collaborating with the Global Procurement team to maintain supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery for production. You will work closely with planners, quality assurance and inventory teams to manage stock levels, address quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze purchase requisitions using forecasts and historical data, clarify ambiguities with planners, and suggest alternatives.
• Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries aligned with production orders and ensure timely factory supply.
• Issue purchase orders after confirming supplier capabilities, specifications, and price accuracy; obtain authorization for deviations.
• Assist the Global Procurement team with supplier price negotiations and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address delivery or product quality concerns and manage returns/replacements (RGA).
• Assess supplier performance and contribute feedback to the Supplier Score Card.
• Control inventory by synchronizing forecast data, adjusting safety stock, applying JIT restocking, and calculating Economic Order Quantity.
• Negotiate supplier cancellation requests based on SAP exceptional reports to reduce liabilities and avoid surplus stock.

Required profile

• GCE ‘A’ level, Diploma or higher education.
• At least 3 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to resolve issues independently and drive performance metrics.
• Understanding of logistics terms and economic principles.
