Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling & Equipment Maintenance)

About the role

MKS is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to design, maintain and improve tooling systems and to ensure periodic maintenance of mechanical equipment in the manufacturing facility. The role supports production efficiency, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain jigs, fixtures and tooling, and work with manufacturing teams so tooling meets product and process requirements.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and run preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve failures quickly.
• Support production teams on tooling and equipment usage and ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Prepare tooling and equipment readiness for new product introduction (NPI).
• Improve tooling efficiency and equipment reliability using lean manufacturing and TPM, and drive cost reduction through tooling optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in tooling design, fabrication and maintenance within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or NX.
• Preferred: hands-on CNC machining or tool fabrication, TPM, Lean or Six Sigma, ERP/MRP knowledge, project management experience.
