Market Communication Specialist (Singapore)

About the role

The Market Communication Specialist will support and coordinate local marketing and communication activities for IKEA Singapore’s main market area. Reporting to the Local Marketing and Communication Manager, the role focuses on enhancing the brand perception among co‑workers, customers and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the annual local marketing plan aligned with commercial priorities.
• Coordinate and evaluate store‑level marketing activities to drive engagement for co‑workers, customers and the community.
• Assist with the execution of store PR events, media launches, interviews and other media‑engagement initiatives.
• Work with the Service Office and other matrix partners to align external communications when required.
• Ensure store information on the Internet Retail Website (IRW) and local store pages is current, collaborating with the e‑commerce team.
• Develop internal communication strategies, content calendars and materials in partnership with store leadership.
• Act as an ambassador for IKEA’s People and Planet sustainability commitments, creating relevant internal content.
• Facilitate engagement activities such as huddles, kick‑off events, workshops, memos and all‑staff communications.
• Support crisis‑management and ad‑hoc local marketing initiatives as needed.
• Manage internal communication channels for the stores.

Required profile

• Proven ability to support and coordinate marketing and communication projects in a retail environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams, including service, e‑commerce and store leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey IKEA’s brand and sustainability messages.
• Experience in planning and executing internal communication activities and events.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
