Material Handling Equipment Operator (Forklift)

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Material Handling Equipment Operator to carry out day-to-day warehouse activities. The role covers receiving, picking and packing goods, inventory control and loading and unloading containers.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily warehouse activities such as receiving, picking and packing goods
• Assist with warehouse inventory by organizing and maintaining stock levels, including labeling and shelving items, regular stock counts and updating inventory records
• Load and unload containers, sort incoming goods and handle returns
• Use the RDT scanner to scan pallets
• Perform weekly and monthly stock counts
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized and free from hazards
• Carry out any ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• Minimum secondary level or ITE qualification
• Prior warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to carry heavy goods, walk and stand for long hours
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Positive attitude and good team player

Required skills

• Experience operating MHE such as forklift, reach truck and/or order picker
• Valid forklift licence; work-at-height licence is an added advantage
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an added advantage
