Materials Engineer

About the role

As a member of Agilent’s Materials Engineering team, you will manage a portfolio of assigned commodities, ensuring that high‑quality raw materials are delivered to the factory on time, at the right cost, and in compliance with global standards. You will work closely with internal functions and external suppliers to drive quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality performance, material disruption, and assurance of supply.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to reduce field defects and improve product reliability.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to lower production non‑conformance material usage.
• Drive annual material cost‑saving projects and act as subject‑matter expert for new product introductions.
• Identify and qualify alternative materials, support capacity expansion at suppliers, and oversee BOM setup for NPI.
• Perform risk assessments, coordinate engineering change management, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Materials Engineering or a related engineering role.
• Strong collaboration skills across R&D, manufacturing, and production teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining attention to detail.
