Mechanic - Workshop

About the role

A skilled and dependable Mechanic is sought to join a hands-on workshop team. This is a practical, workshop-based role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and maintains high standards of safety and efficiency. The mechanic keeps vehicles or machinery in optimal working condition, supports daily operations and helps minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles or mechanical equipment so they operate safely and reliably
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and service schedules
• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to find faults and recommend remedial action
• Replace or repair worn, defective or damaged components to quality and safety standards
• Maintain accurate service records and job cards
• Follow workplace safety procedures and keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant
• Liaise with supervisors or service advisors on job progress and parts needs
• Help with stock checks and report parts or consumables that need replenishing

Required profile

• Technical qualification or certification in mechanical engineering, automotive technology or a related field
• Hands-on experience in a workshop or maintenance environment
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
• Good time management and strong English communication skills
• Safety-conscious attitude and adherence to health and safety guidelines

Required skills

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools and workshop equipment
• Understanding of mechanical systems and ability to read technical manuals and schematics
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality workmanship
