Mechanical Engineer – Automation Equipment Design

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, review and continuous improvement of automation equipment and manufacturing systems. The role will support HMGICS’s assembly line operations by turning manual processes into efficient automated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, jigs, fixtures and equipment for assembly‑line applications.
• Create and review 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in CATIA, including kinematic simulations.
• Develop automation concepts that convert manual parts installation into automated operations.
• Evaluate factory and equipment layout plans for feasibility, efficiency and maintainability.
• Support upgrades of existing equipment and assembly processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on equipment development, installation and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical documentation such as drawings, bills of materials and specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on mechanical design experience, preferably in industrial or automation equipment.
• Experience in assembly‑line, manufacturing or R&D environments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components, motors, sensors and pneumatic systems.
• Solid understanding of automation, motion control and manufacturing equipment design.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in 3D CATIA with simulation capabilities.
• Ability to perform kinematic simulation and analysis.
• Expertise in mechanical structures, machine elements and manufacturing processes.
• Capability to review factory and equipment layouts independently.
