Mechanical Engineer – Turbine Maintenance & Upgrades

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer (Turbine) will lead and execute preventive and corrective maintenance on gas and steam turbines, as well as associated auxiliary systems. You will ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and production requirements while minimizing outage durations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute plant outages, allocate manpower, and coordinate schedules with relevant sections.
• Lead and mentor technical officers during overhaul activities to reduce downtime.
• Conduct fault investigation, root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage procurement of spares, monitor deliveries, and administer maintenance contracts.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, WSH regulations, PTW systems, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, 27001).
• Prepare and submit periodic maintenance and performance reports, and support OPEX/CAPEX budgeting.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).
• Familiarity with precision mechanical assembly and maintenance of large rotating equipment.
• Knowledge of local statutory requirements for pressure vessels and lifting equipment.
• Relevant safety certifications (Confined Space, Lifting Supervisor, Work at Height) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading teams and working independently under pressure.
