Medical Social Worker (Contract)

About the role

NUHS is hiring a Medical Social Worker on a contract basis. The role provides psychosocial and emotional care to patients so they can cope better with their medical and living conditions, working closely with multi-disciplinary professionals to deliver holistic care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver individual and group therapy
• Take part in talks and workshops, supervise social work undergraduates and network with government and community agencies
• Contribute to training and research, and help plan and develop social work services and policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Graduate Diploma in Social Work
• At least 2 years' experience as a Medical Social Worker, or 5 years in other sectors
• Registration as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Singapore Association of Social Workers is preferred
• A Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling is an added advantage

• Effective clinical skills in assessment, intervention, casework and counselling
• Team player who can run clinical services at polyclinics independently
