Member of Technical Staff (MTS) - Electrical, Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

Micron is hiring a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) for electrical engineering at its Fab 10 facility in Singapore. The role serves as the site technical authority for electrical infrastructure up to 230kV, leading long-term planning, reliability and risk management, and providing technical assurance for major capital projects and brownfield expansions.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategy, design criteria, engineering standards, protection philosophies and technical direction for electrical infrastructure up to 230kV.
• Lead long-term planning for electrical capacity, reliability, resilience, asset lifecycle, power quality, energy performance and technology deployment.
• Provide technical recommendations and assurance for capital projects, brownfield expansions, utility interfaces, substations, emergency generation, DUPS, protection systems and power quality solutions.
• Own site-wide electrical reliability and risk management, including FMEA, system modelling, protection coordination, contingency planning and elimination of single points of failure.
• Lead resolution of major incidents with root cause analysis, recovery and sustainable corrective actions.
• Assure critical designs, commissioning, switching, energization, temporary configurations and operational readiness.
• Influence engineering and investment decisions on safety, compliance, manufacturing continuity, capacity readiness and resilience.
• Champion SMART power systems, advanced monitoring, predictive maintenance, digital twins, automation, data analytics and responsible AI-enabled engineering.
• Mentor senior technical talent, govern technical reviews and certification, and share standards, reference designs and lessons learned.
• Engage utilities, regulators, Professional Engineers, consultants, OEMs and suppliers on complex electrical infrastructure matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Master's preferred).
• Registered Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience in high-, medium- and low-voltage electrical system design, commissioning, operations, maintenance, protection, reliability and capacity planning in semiconductor or similar complex manufacturing environments.
• Recognized technical authority in shaping site electrical strategy, standards, system architecture, reliability programs and major infrastructure initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead complex investigations, risk reduction, major technical reviews and high-voltage infrastructure projects, and to influence senior stakeholders and mentor others without direct authority.

Required skills

• Utility interfaces, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection and control, emergency generation, DUPS/UPS, grounding, power quality and electrical safety.
• Power system studies: load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, harmonics, transient analysis and system modelling.
• Experience with data analytics, condition monitoring, automation, predictive maintenance, digital twins and SMART power systems is highly advantageous.
