Operations Improvement Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring an Operations Improvement Engineer for its Operations Improvement (OI) team. The role drives performance optimization across PWF, Assembly (HBM, advanced packaging) and Test operations by finding improvement opportunities in output, cycle time, cost and efficiency. It applies industrial engineering principles to line management, production planning, scheduling and dispatching, and supports factory automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyze optimization opportunities in PWF, Assembly and Test operations
• Design and implement data-driven solutions to improve production metrics and operational effectiveness
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects on process automation and workflow streamlining
• Develop and deploy operations management tools for real-time scheduling and dispatching
• Support factory automation initiatives and contribute to modernization systems for Production and Engineering
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator who collaborates across all levels, with a growth mindset
• Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus; demonstrated leadership is highly desirable
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is an advantage
