Operations Technician – Plant Operations (Jurong Island)

About the role

The Operations Technician ensures safe and reliable operation of Chevron’s plant and associated equipment on Jurong Island. You will rotate between field duties and DCS console monitoring, supporting start‑up, shutdown and turnaround activities while maintaining strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, boilers, incinerators, pumps and pipeline networks.
• Perform structured rotational duties on the DCS console and in the field, including troubleshooting, corrective actions and first‑line maintenance.
• Prepare and execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Support unit start‑up, shutdown and turnaround activities, and act as an Emergency Response Team member during plant emergencies and drills.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, NITEC or equivalent (O‑Levels acceptable).
• 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in plant operations or maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts on Jurong Island.

Required skills

• Operation of plant equipment (reactor, heat exchanger, boiler, incinerator, pump, etc.).
• Monitoring and control using DCS consoles.
• Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
• First‑line maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Emergency response and drill participation.
