Procurement Engineer / Buyer – Semiconductor Industry

About the role

The Procurement Engineer/Buyer will manage material disposition for Continuous Improvement Projects, Customer Specific Requirements and New Product Introductions within the semiconductor industry. The role focuses on securing the right material at the right price, quality and delivery time while supporting cost‑reduction and lead‑time optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Drive quality improvements across the supply chain in collaboration with product, R&D, material management and finance teams.
• Validate invoices against purchase orders and manage price deviations.
• Maintain accurate SCM data (vendor records, contracts, warehouse, IQC) in SAP and trigger corrective actions when needed.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct assessments and analyse results to recommend improvements.
• Negotiate and issue purchase orders or call‑offs, handle fast‑lane ICPO/CIP/CSR requests and ensure timely material ordering in SAP.
• Work closely with local production planning to guarantee material availability and optimise inventory levels.
• Request, evaluate and analyse quotations, and support corrective actions for delayed deliveries.

Required profile

• Degree holder with at least 5 years of global sourcing experience, preferably focused on Asian supply markets.
• Proven experience in supplier qualification, audits and corrective‑action processes.
• Strong negotiation abilities and a track record of achieving cost targets and lead‑time reductions.
• Good understanding of semiconductor production and assembly processes.
• High independence, team spirit and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• SAP/R3 (ERP) proficiency.
• Microsoft Office suite – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
