Part-Time Lecturer – Gameplay Course

About the role

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as a Part‑time Lecturer for DT1102 Gameplay. The lecturer will teach an undergraduate foundation course on gameplay fundamentals starting in January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and workshops covering paper prototyping, game mechanics, feedback loops and reward structures.
• Guide students through iterative design cycles, play‑testing and peer feedback to refine their game concepts.
• Develop and update course materials, assignments and assessment criteria aligned with the curriculum.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and maintain academic records for the module.

Required profile

• At least a Master’s or PhD in Game Design or a related field, with a proven record of production and creative practice in analogue or tabletop game design.
• Past teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred; exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and substantial industry experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support student learning in a collaborative environment.
• Commitment to academic excellence and to fostering innovative game design thinking among first‑year students.
