Part-Time Radiographer

About the role

NUHS is hiring a part-time Radiographer who provides prompt diagnostic imaging services to patients while ensuring patient safety and proper care of equipment. The Radiographer assists the Centre In-Charge and Senior Principal Radiographer in guiding and supervising junior radiographers and assistants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Bone Mineral Densitometry and radiographic examinations using C-arm fluoroscopy and Bone Mineral Densitometry machines during orthopaedic procedural activities (80% of duties)
• Ensure patient safety and welfare, and maintain a clean, safe environment with adherence to radiation safety and infection control
• Apply the ALARA principle for all procedures
• Handle general housekeeping of the allocated diagnostic centre or clinic and deliver prompt, courteous service to internal and external customers
• Support quality control procedures and carry out administrative duties or ad-hoc quality projects as assigned
• Coach junior and assistant radiographers in general radiographic techniques (20% of duties)
• Take part in departmental committees and complete assigned tasks in an organised, timely way

Required profile

• Recognized degree or diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
• R1 licence with the Centre for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Sciences, National Environment Agency
• Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council
• Experience with Bone Mineral Densitometry and C-Arm imaging preferred
• Ability to communicate in vernacular languages
• Service-oriented, customer-focused, compassionate and good team player

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication and coaching skills
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Basic programming knowledge and advanced use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is an added advantage
