PHP Developer – Backend Web Development

About the role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to own back‑end services and ensure seamless data exchange between our servers and users. You will design, build, and maintain server‑side logic, manage the central database, and guarantee high performance and responsiveness for front‑end interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate user‑facing elements created by front‑end developers.
• Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules.
• Resolve complex performance and architectural challenges.
• Design and integrate data storage solutions, including databases and key‑value stores.
• Develop, test, and maintain PHP‑based web applications.
• Write clean, well‑structured, and maintainable PHP code.
• Work with MySQL, optimizing queries and database structures.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and payment gateways.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to implement responsive designs.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of development work.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest web technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as Laravel or Yii.
• Understanding of PHP’s synchronous behavior and MVC design patterns.
• Basic proficiency with front‑end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
• Experience in object‑oriented PHP programming.
• Familiarity with accessibility and security compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of common PHP/web server exploits and mitigation strategies.
• Ability to design scalable applications and manage user authentication across systems.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources and databases.
• Understanding of PHP platform limitations and appropriate workarounds.
• Capability to create database schemas supporting business processes.
