PHP Developer – Backend Web Development

About the role

We are seeking a PHP Developer to manage back‑end services and ensure smooth data exchange between our servers and users. The role focuses on building server‑side logic, maintaining the central database, and delivering high‑performance, responsive applications that integrate seamlessly with front‑end components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain PHP‑based web applications and reusable modules.
• Design, optimise, and manage MySQL databases, including query tuning and schema creation.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and payment gateways into the platform.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to integrate user‑facing elements and ensure responsive design.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues, maintaining clear documentation.
• Address performance challenges and architectural problems, ensuring scalability.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as Laravel or Yii.
• Understanding of PHP’s synchronous execution model and MVC design patterns.
• Basic proficiency with front‑end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
• Solid grasp of object‑oriented PHP programming and security best practices.
• Familiarity with common PHP and web‑server exploits and their mitigations.
• Experience with user authentication, authorization, and integration of multiple data sources.
• Awareness of PHP platform limitations and effective work‑arounds.
