Planning Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Planning Engineer to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders through close collaboration with Supply Chain, Central Planning and Manufacturing teams. The role covers material planning for production builds, capacity studies and optimization of loading plans to maximize output.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure on-time delivery for all production orders and collaborate with Supply Chain on ad-hoc customer requests
• Work with Central Planning to optimize network loading and meet customer order commitments
• Partner with material planners on engineering requests and normal demand, and coordinate with Supply Chain and Central Planning to secure wafer supply
• Plan and analyze weekly capacity feasibility with Industrial Engineering, and optimize loading to maximize assembly output
• Work with Manufacturing on tactical horizon planning and with Process Engineers on special engineering lead-lot builds
• Start planned orders on time, identify efficiency gaps and propose improvements
• Optimize probe job combinations, set up dashboards and alerts for probe issues, and resolve discrepancies with engineering teams
• Take part in improvement initiatives and support continuous improvement and cost optimization

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer engineering preferred
• At least 2 years of demonstrated leadership skills, such as in university or co-curricular activities
• Production and material planning expertise, capacity analysis and optimization techniques
• Hands-on experience with AI tools (chatbots, agentic AI, automation) and SAP warehouse modules, ASRS management and MRB resolution
• Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus; knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron preferred
