Planning Site Inventory Control (SIC) Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Planning Site Inventory Control (SIC) Engineer for its Fab 10N/X site. The role oversees the advanced industrial production line, which is part of the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network, in identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement and proposing line direction and focus on inventory scheduling. It works with other departments to align line management business rules, optimize scheduling rules and set up production reports and indices, applying manufacturing science concepts to line management and inventory scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the production line to identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Improve site inventory through analytics, scheduling optimization and breakthrough reporting.
• Write Python and SQL programs to support the scheduling optimizer.
• Work with other engineering departments to improve line inventory performance through business process improvement, scheduling logic and analytical reports and indices.
• Create visualization and reporting capabilities to monitor line inventory health.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work, and share AI-enabled improvements with colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science.
• Effective communicator able to collaborate across all levels, with a growth mindset and interest in continuous learning.
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.
• Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly for research, analysis and problem solving.
• Leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, matplotlib, numpy, scipy.stats) is a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL and Tableau is a plus.
• Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
