Platform / DevOps Engineer

Job description
About the role
We are seeking a hands‑on Platform / DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate our container‑based cloud platform. The role will own the full lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters across development, testing, staging and production, ensuring they are secure, reliable and performant.
Key responsibilities
- Design, provision and configure Kubernetes clusters using managed services or self‑managed distributions.
- Own the complete cluster lifecycle: installation, scaling, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery and decommissioning.
- Manage control‑plane and worker‑node architecture, capacity planning, availability and performance.
- Configure networking, ingress controllers, DNS, load balancing, service discovery, storage classes and persistent volumes.
- Implement security controls such as RBAC, secrets management, network policies, pod security standards and image admission controls.
- Develop reusable container platform services, Helm charts, templates and golden paths for engineering teams.
- Automate provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Establish governance standards, security baselines, naming conventions and production‑readiness policies.
- Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD or Flux.
- Manage container registries, image lifecycle, vulnerability scanning and software‑supply‑chain controls.
- Partner with security, architecture and engineering teams to meet compliance requirements.
- Support production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive long‑term remediation.
- Evaluate and introduce new platform technologies to improve scalability, security and developer productivity.
- Support AI/ML workloads, including GPU‑enabled clusters, containerised model deployment and MLOps pipelines.
Required profile
- Strong hands‑on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure or site reliability engineering.
- Proven experience building and managing Kubernetes clusters, not just deploying applications.
- Experience owning Kubernetes clusters through their full operational lifecycle.
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Ability to define and enforce platform governance, security baselines and production‑readiness standards.
- Experience supporting production incidents and implementing long‑term remediation.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure, GPU workloads and MLOps pipelines is advantageous.
