Postdoctoral Fellow – Microbiome Gut-Brain Neuroscience

About the role

The Hwei‑Ee Tan lab at NTU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine investigates the biological basis of gut‑feelings and the gut‑brain axis using mouse models. We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to co‑create impactful discoveries in microbiome‑gut‑brain neuroscience and contribute to essential laboratory operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive innovative research projects on the microbiome‑gut‑brain axis, from experimental design to data interpretation.
• Perform core animal work, including mouse handling, surgeries, and routine lab duties, while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• PhD in neuroscience or a related discipline with a strong publication record.
• Proficiency in mice/rodent handling, optogenetics, animal surgery and dissection.
• Demonstrated expertise in either multiphoton/2‑photon in vivo calcium imaging with data analysis, or gnotobiotic studies coupled with microbiome bioinformatics.
• Highly motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
