Principal Engineer, NAND TD RDA

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Principal Engineer for its NAND Technology Development RDA team. You will lead a team in using next-generation defect detection equipment and processes to identify and solve issues, accelerating learning and technology transfer in Technology Development. The role works closely with process integration, process development, data science and yield analysis, and supports experimentation, data analysis, baseline health metrics and systematic and random defect improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage a safe work environment and mentor the team in analysing experimental process flows to find defect anomalies and quarantine out-of-control tools.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement and develop inspection technology roadmaps for internal and external partners.
• Manage projects within the team and across functional areas, and direct the team to recognise and raise awareness of process anomalies.
• Set clear metrics for program health and communicate them to set program priorities.
• Improve detection techniques and find new ways to use existing tools to identify process issues.
• Take part in technical meetings and synthesise new opportunities, and collaborate with the global network to align methods across sites.

Required profile

• PhD or Master's degree in Applied Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 6-8 years of RDA experience in the semiconductor industry in process development for equipment and applications.
• 6-8 years of experience in RDA defect, semiconductor optical and electron beam inspection methods and e-beam technologies.
• Proven track record of innovation and change, with strong technical, communication and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Experience with tools such as KLA and AMAT.
• Root cause analysis, data manipulation and correlation.
• An added advantage: proficiency in data analysis, machine learning and statistical modelling.
