Trainee, Development Services (DS)

About the role

Lonza is recruiting a Trainee in Development Services (DS) for its Science Park Facility in Tuas, Singapore. This is a fully site-based role within the Lab Services team, which supports the three technical disciplines of Development Services: Cell Culture Development, Purification Development and Analytical Services. The position does not involve sample or product testing. The Career Conversion Program (CCP) training lasts 15 months, with on-the-job training at the participating companies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment verification, media and buffer preparation, goods receiving and similar tasks under the guidance of supervisors and seniors
• Document results in line with Lonza policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Carry out general laboratory support such as housekeeping, equipment maintenance and supply inventory
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and contribute to operational efficiency
• Follow EHS rules and regulations at all times
• Complete any other duties assigned

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant science field or equivalent
• Understanding of mammalian cell culture theory and its application to protein production, purification and analysis
• Understanding of cGMP regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Interest in automation and lab analytics activities
