Principal Research Fellow – AI for Development Hub

About the role

The AI4D Asia Labs Coordination Hub at NTU seeks a Principal Research Fellow to lead day‑to‑day management of a three‑year, CAD 3 million AI for Development programme across low‑ and middle‑income Asian countries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of the Hub project (2026‑2029), ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Coordinate daily interactions between the Hub at NTU and three AI4D Labs, facilitating communication and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with NTU policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and prepare financial reports.
• Support grant applications, budgeting, documentation, and submission processes.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, and updates for funders and stakeholders.
• Lead Hub and Lab teams to plan and track annual activities, including regional workshops and cross‑Lab projects.
• Administer the sub‑granting process to the three AI4D Labs, ensuring documentation and compliance.
• Organise research meetings, workshops, and engagement activities.
• Support strategic initiatives to enhance the Hub’s research impact and visibility.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline such as communication, development studies, public policy, information systems, data science, AI, or a related field.
