Principal Test Engineer - Semiconductor Testing

About the role

Marvell is hiring a Principal Test Engineer (test development senior staff engineer) in its Operations business group. You will test features on the silicon semiconductor chips Marvell produces for internal and external customers, working closely with design so that chip features are testable and meet customer specifications. You may also write new code or develop new testing strategies when chips outpace the capabilities of current testing equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop test programs on the Advantest 93K tester platform and design tester hardware for high-speed testing.
• Develop characterization, production and wafer sort test programs on the Advantest 93K tester.
• Create documentation for detail test plans and test methodologies to meet product specifications.
• Take part in testability reviews with DFT/DFM teams to define and improve yield and test methodologies.
• Convert test patterns from the design simulation environment to ATE format.
• Lead test flow optimization, test time reduction, insertions and removals, yield improvement and release of production test programs with product engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5-10 years of related professional experience, or a Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience.
• Minimum 6+ years of test program development experience on the Advantest 93K ATE tester platform.
• Demonstrable experience in ATE testing, test methodology, silicon process, DFT/DFM and high-speed digital testing (4+ years).
• Effective interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills, with a sense of urgency and accountability, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Advantest 93K ATE tester programming and test program development.
• C/C++, Perl, Python and Linux environment.
• DFT/DFM and high-speed digital testing.
