Principal/Senior Engineer - Air Traffic Management Support Systems

About the role

This role is part of the team overseeing the operation and maintenance of Air Traffic Management (ATM) support systems at Changi Airport Terminal 2. The systems support Air Traffic Control (ATC) and fault management, such as flight plan processing, NOTAM submission, data logging and dissemination of safety-related information. You will also plan, manage and execute enhancement works and technology refresh upgrades, including system architecture design, technical specifications and vendor coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage ATM support systems projects, including replacement of existing systems, enhancements and tech refresh upgrades, delivering them on time, within scope and to operational requirements.
• Design the system architecture and technical specifications for on-site and cloud-deployed systems, and work with users and stakeholders on operational, technical and cybersecurity requirements.
• Seek approval from relevant authorities for the proposed designs and specifications, and prepare budgets and implementation plans, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Carry out procurement, evaluate proposed solutions and implement and deploy the systems with vendors, including testing and commissioning.
• Support operation and maintenance, such as preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure compliance with ICAO, Eurocae and other governance regulations.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, suppliers, maintenance operators, users and IT consultants.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing, implementing and deploying information-centric systems.
• Proficiency in system architecture design and implementation for on-premises and cloud setups.
• Familiarity with cloud products such as AWS and Azure.
• Experience in testing and commissioning, and in networking and cybersecurity compliance.
• Good communication and written skills, attention to detail, organisation and self-discipline; overseas travel for meetings may be required.
