Principal/Staff Process Integration Engineer, NAND Technology Integration

About the role

Micron is hiring a Principal/Staff Process Integration Engineer for its NAND technology integration team. The role leads one or more process modules for 3D NAND semiconductor devices, defines specifications, drives continual improvement and coordinates a team of process engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process modules for 3D NAND device development and operation, defining structural specifications and process requirements
• Set a clear direction and vision for the module and establish a continual improvement plan
• Identify early structure, electrical and reliability issues and solve them with a model-based approach
• Optimize manufacturability, parametric verification and process control
• Analyze materials physically and electrically and help move new materials from research to production
• Build and run device and process experiments, analyze results and assess statistical significance
• Assemble and coordinate a development team, set goals and metrics, and drive decisions
• Submit patent disclosures regularly and support technology transfer from R&D to high-volume manufacturing
• Present key information and projects and coordinate across cross-functional teams
• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wafer fabrication process development (dry etch, photolithography, films, wet process, CMP or process integration)
• Strong understanding of PI modules on new NAND technologies and their structural and electrical fail mechanisms
• In-depth knowledge of non-volatile memories (NAND), the NAND process flow, and common yield and reliability issues
• Experience in R&D and technology transfer to manufacturing
• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
