Procurement Officer (12-Month Contract)

About the role

A financial services organisation in Singapore, focused on governance, operational excellence and supplier management, is offering a 12-month contract for a Procurement Officer. The role covers end-to-end sourcing, purchasing and contract management, working with Operations, Finance and Legal.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate sourcing activities, from defining requirements and evaluating suppliers to contract award.
• Maintain records of sourcing exercises, approvals, supplier assessments, contracts and supporting documentation.
• Turn approved purchasing requirements into accurate purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Check that purchase orders and payment requests comply with approved contracts, suppliers, budgets and delegated authorities.
• Work with Finance and business teams to resolve purchase order, goods receipt, invoice and payment issues.
• Monitor spend against contracts, purchase orders and budgets, escalating significant variances or control concerns.
• Maintain contract records and support amendments, extensions, renewals, variations and terminations in line with governance.
• Handle supplier payment enquiries and help maintain productive supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Diploma-qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least three years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, contract management, supplier relationship management or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience across source-to-contract and procure-to-pay processes.
• Practical knowledge of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice resolution and purchasing compliance.
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills; able to work independently and meet competing deadlines.
• A relevant procurement qualification or professional membership such as CIPS is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement platforms such as Coupa, SAP Ariba or comparable systems.
