Product & Design Intern

About the role

Patsnap, founded in Singapore, is a global innovation intelligence company that combines patent, scientific, chemical, materials and life sciences data with domain-specific AI products to help R&D and IP teams make better decisions. It is looking for an individual interested in the intersection of customers, technology and business, possibly considering a future career in product management or design. Successful candidates work in fast iterative loops to prototype and test solutions found through customer interviews and product analytics. A minimum of 3 months commitment is required.

Key responsibilities

• Interview customers and synthesise their interviews into feedback, insights and latent needs.
• Develop and test functional prototypes with actual users and manage pilot and beta releases.
• Help design evaluation cases and metrics for search and agentic products.
• Improve internal systems and processes used for product discovery and delivery.

Required profile

• Experience and good judgment in using AI tools for knowledge work.
• Curiosity about user behaviour and a desire to build products that delight customers.
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical and systems thinking to open-ended problems.
• Nice to have: experience in a team developing software products, familiarity with research and product development of science-based products, and a portfolio of products you have helped build.

Required skills

• Prototyping skills in any tool (e.g. Figma, Codex, Claude Design), gained through self-study, internships or personal projects.
• Good communication and collaboration skills in English, written and spoken.
