Product Engineer (Threat Investigation)

About the role

The Investigation Product and Platform team is looking for a Product Engineer to design and deliver innovative digital solutions that support national security operations. You will work in an agile, cross‑functional environment, collaborating with product managers, UX designers, engineers and mission stakeholders to turn operational challenges into secure, user‑friendly applications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to understand user challenges and translate them into intuitive solutions.
• Design, develop and deploy scalable web applications using full‑stack technologies such as React, Spring Boot and Kubernetes.
• Build data‑processing pipelines that ingest, transform and enrich large datasets with high performance.
• Create and maintain APIs that connect front‑end applications with backend micro‑services and in‑house systems.
• Integrate frontier AI models into applications and data systems to automate complex workflows.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting and performance optimisation for production software.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, operating at a senior level.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a track record of delivering reliable, secure software.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with React and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, API design and micro‑service architecture.
• Ability to build scalable data‑processing systems.
• Familiarity with AI model integration and pipeline development.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix environments and cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
• Basic knowledge of database concepts, queries and optimisation.
• Exposure to DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
