Product Yield Enhancement Engineer (PFA)

About the role

Micron is hiring an Engineer, Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) to support physical failure analysis (PFA) of memory products. The role identifies failure mechanisms and provides technical findings that contribute to yield, quality and reliability improvement, working closely with Product Engineering, Process Integration, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis to identify defect locations, failure mechanisms and electrical failure modes in memory devices.
• Analyze device architecture, fabrication processes, device operation and device physics to support root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to present analysis results and support corrective actions for yield, quality and reliability improvements.
• Maintain readiness and effective use of laboratory equipment, analytical tools and failure analysis methodologies.
• Follow laboratory safety requirements, operational procedures and quality standards.
• Document technical findings, analysis results and learnings according to organizational standards.
• Support continuous improvement of laboratory capability, operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality or effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements within scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Chemicals, Materials Science or a related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of physical failure analysis techniques, de-capsulation methods and circuit edit processes.
• Experience with electrical fault isolation and root-cause analysis of semiconductor device failures.
• Hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process monitoring, troubleshooting, process optimization and/or statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience supporting semiconductor defect analysis, process improvement, equipment qualification or product quality improvement.
