Production Shift Supervisor

About the role

The Shift Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations in a food production environment, ensuring efficient output, product quality, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves managing production schedules, optimizing resources, and leading teams across multiple shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily production shifts to maintain smooth, timely operations.
• Monitor output against productivity and quality targets, implementing SOPs.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, workplace safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to reduce downtime.
• Optimize manpower, materials, and equipment usage for efficiency.
• Lead, coach, and train production staff, maintaining adequate staffing levels.
• Prepare daily production reports, shift records, and incident documentation.
• Support internal and external audits and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing or production operations.
• Prior supervisory or team‑leading experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, FSSC 22000 or BRCGS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using production reporting systems.
