Production Technician (Technician 2)

About the role

Join BD as a Production Technician (Technician 2) and support the manufacturing of medical‑technology products. You will operate and maintain production equipment, ensure product quality, and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives while complying with safety, GMP and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing machines and process equipment safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimise downtime and meet production targets.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities, including cleaning, servicing and component replacement.
• Monitor and record machine and process parameters, taking corrective actions when required.
• Conduct sampling inspections to verify product specifications.
• Manage non‑conforming products according to quality procedures.
• Support production projects, process improvements and change implementations.
• Execute machine changeovers, material changes, tool/die replacements and minor setup tasks.
• Update production information accurately in MES systems.
• Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, packing and unpacking.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Participate in team meetings, Kaizen activities, safety initiatives and continuous‑improvement programs.

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or technical environment (preferred).
• Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude for production equipment.
• Knowledge of GMP, quality systems and manufacturing processes (advantage).
• Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Good teamwork, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work shifts when required and a positive, continuous‑improvement mindset.
