Products Trading Operator

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Products Trading Operator to join our Asia Pacific Trading Operations team in Singapore. Acting as the operational bridge between trading desks in Singapore, Geneva and Dubai, you will ensure seamless execution of commercial contracts and optimise logistics across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate sea and over‑land loading/discharging logistics, mitigating hazardous situations.
• Monitor chartered vessels (spot, COA, T/C), optimise rotations and loading plans.
• Nominate and manage service providers such as inspectors, loss controllers and additive suppliers.
• Oversee storage and processing contracts, handling quantities, qualities, customs and financial exposure.
• Identify and resolve operational issues in collaboration with stakeholders, minimising cost impact.
• Secure financial guarantees from counterparties and work with the Credit department on cargo loading/unloading.
• Evaluate transaction costs and communicate financial data affecting trading results (prices, hedges, freight, currency).
• Validate trading negotiations, formalise commercial contracts and ensure regulatory compliance (REACH, Customs, VAT).
• Submit damage reports, manage insurance claims and ensure vessel vetting procedures.
• Handle invoicing, payment processing and fund recovery.

Required skills

• Knowledge of maritime logistics and vessel chartering processes.
• Understanding of commercial contract management.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as REACH, customs and VAT.
• Basic financial acumen for evaluating transaction costs.
