Project Engineer – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)

About the role

The Project Engineer (M&E) will support the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical, electrical and plumbing works on construction projects. Reporting to senior engineering staff, you will ensure that M&E installations meet design intent, quality standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and scheduling M&E works in line with overall project timelines.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Review and verify M&E drawings, specifications and shop drawings for accuracy and constructability.
• Support procurement of materials and equipment required for M&E works.
• Supervise on‑site installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Conduct site inspections, testing & commissioning and system integration checks.
• Track and report progress, delays, deviations and risks.
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments and technical submissions.
• Work with QA/QC teams to maintain quality control and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in progress claims, variation orders and project reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in M&E coordination or project engineering within the construction industry.
• Good knowledge of local codes and regulations such as BCA, PUB, SCDF and NEA.
• Familiarity with building services, MEP systems and construction practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with MS Project for scheduling.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
