Project Officer – Cell Biology, Biochemistry & Microscopy

About the role

We are seeking a Project Officer to support the day‑to‑day operations of a cell biology laboratory within the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University. The role combines hands‑on experimental work with administrative responsibilities to ensure a smoothly running research environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain overall organization and operation of the laboratory.
• Manage procurement processes and oversee health‑ and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with PhD students and post‑doctoral researchers on ongoing projects.
• Perform independent cell‑based experiments and analyse data to high standards.
• Present regular research updates in internal group meetings.

Required profile

• BSc in Biology or a related discipline.
• Previous laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture, biochemistry techniques and microscopy.
• Team‑oriented attitude with strong organisational abilities.
• Resourceful self‑starter capable of working independently.

Required skills

• Cell culture and transfection.
• SDS‑PAGE and Western blotting.
• Immunohistochemistry (sectioning and staining).
• Fluorescence light microscopy, including immunofluorescence and confocal imaging.
