Purchasing Engineer

About the role
We are looking for a Purchasing Engineer to support our marine and engineering projects by sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices and managing contracts. The role works closely with engineering, sales and project teams to ensure cost‑effective procurement of materials and services.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new suppliers for direct and indirect materials/services to expand the supplier base.
- Obtain quotations, perform cost analysis and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Lead periodic price negotiations to secure competitive pricing.
- Develop and negotiate supply agreements with selected vendors.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Unit Sales to analyse sales contracts and provide BOM cost inputs.
- Support project costing activities and perform ad‑hoc procurement tasks.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC or a related field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin for communication with Mandarin‑speaking counterparts.
- Strong organisational, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
