QA Technician – Quality Inspection in Optics Manufacturing

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a QA Technician to support its Singapore optics manufacturing site. The role ensures product quality, compliance with health and safety standards, and timely inspection of optical components for a range of high‑tech markets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform First Article Test (FAT) and First Article Inspection (FAI) on optical lenses and assemblies.
• Conduct in‑process and final quality inspections, record data in ERP/database, and report non‑conformities.
• Maintain cleanroom standards, traceability of parts, and documentation in accordance with the QMS.
• Assist with internal audits, verify Acceptance Test Records, and manage inspection turnaround times.
• Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment, monitoring calibration status.
• Provide feedback to the Section In‑charge, support urgent job planning, and liaise on work clarifications.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Optics Engineering, or equivalent certification with five+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience in life‑science, medical, semiconductor, optronics or avionics manufacturing environments.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a cleanroom.

Required skills

• Use of basic test and inspection tools such as calipers, verniers and surface tables.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and documentation procedures.
• Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings, technical specifications and supplier material certificates.
• Experience with ERP or database entry for inspection data.
• Knowledge of optics/fiber‑optics inspection processes.
