Quality Engineer – Plant Quality Management

About the role

The Quality Engineer provides engineering support across plant quality functions, overseeing laboratory operations, incoming material inspection, packaging assurance, and the Quality Management System. Acting as the Plant Quality Management Representative, the role ensures compliance with corporate, customer and regulatory standards while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the Quality Laboratory to deliver chemical analyses, battery safety tests, material qualification and other services supporting manufacturing and new product introduction.
• Supervise Laboratory Technicians and QA staff, allocating resources and prioritising work to meet service timelines.
• Maintain the Quality Management System, lead internal and external audits, manage corrective actions and ensure ongoing certification.
• Oversee incoming and first‑article inspections, manage non‑conforming material disposition and supplier follow‑up.
• Lead cross‑functional investigations using A3, 4‑Step Management, root‑cause analysis, FMEA and SPC.
• Manage the plant calibration system to keep measuring equipment calibrated and traceable.
• Support product launches, transfers and engineering changes by establishing and validating quality requirements.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects that enhance product quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary quality liaison with external co‑packing partners.
