Manufacturing Buyer – Procurement & Supplier Management

About the role

The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for executing purchases of components and raw materials, ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules. You will work closely with the Global Procurement team, planners, and Quality Assurance to maintain supplier relationships and uphold product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze purchase requisitions, using forecasts and historical data, and clarify ambiguities with planners.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers to align with production orders.
• Issue purchase orders after confirming supplier capabilities, specifications, and pricing; obtain approvals for deviations.
• Assist Global Procurement in supplier price negotiations and manage supplier performance scorecards.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve delivery or quality issues and handle returns/replacements (RGA).
• Control inventory through forecast synchronization, safety stock adjustments, JIT restocking, and EOQ calculations.
• Negotiate supplier cancellation requests to reduce liabilities and avoid surplus stock.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and communicate them to the Procurement team.
• Ensure compliance with Molex Procurement Policy and EHS protocols.
• Allocate resources during supply shortages between subcontractors and Molex to optimize benefits.

Required profile

• GCE ‘A’ level, Diploma or higher.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant procurement or purchasing experience.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, resolve issues and drive performance metrics.
• Understanding of logistics terminology and basic economic principles.
