Quantity Surveyor – Building & Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Building and Infrastructure Programme Centre. You will work with multi‑disciplinary teams to support the planning, design, tendering and contract management of defence facilities that meet the operational needs of the SAF.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
• Provide engineering advice to achieve cost‑effective solutions.
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate offers, manage contracts and prepare accounts.
• Offer contractual advice in line with contract conditions, statutory acts and regulations.
• Analyse construction cost trends and establish cost benchmarks.
• Stay updated on Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other industry procurement initiatives.
• Review and improve procurement and contract administration processes.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Building, Project & Facilities Management, Quantity Surveying or related fields.
• Good knowledge of Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract, Contract Law, Construction Law and the Security of Payment Act.
• Proficiency in cost estimation, tender preparation, evaluation and contract administration.
• Familiarity with BIM or other electronic measurement software; interest in data‑analytics tools is a plus.
• Dynamic, self‑motivated with strong analytical abilities.
• Pro‑active team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
