Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will manage project costs from inception to completion, ensuring that all construction works align with financial and contractual requirements. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to deliver accurate cost estimates and maintain budgetary control across a range of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, quotations, tenders, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
• Carry out quantity take‑offs and measurement of construction works.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist in tender submissions.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cost performance.
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Verify subcontractor progress claims and payment certificates.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial matters.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, quotations, purchase orders, and claims.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support procurement negotiations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, tendering, and contract administration.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• AutoCAD or BIM drafting knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with quantity surveying or construction management software.
