R&D Program Manager – Lead Cross‑Functional Development

About the role

The incumbent will lead and drive cross‑functional R&D programs from concept through commercialization. This position manages the full lifecycle of complex product development, aligning technical milestones with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end program execution using hybrid or Agile practices where appropriate.
• Coordinate engineering, design, QA, procurement, regulatory and manufacturing teams.
• Define program scope, objectives, timelines and deliverables in line with product strategy.
• Develop and maintain schedules, Gantt charts, resource plans and budgets.
• Ensure timely completion of design reviews, technical milestones and compliance checkpoints.
• Identify risks, create mitigation plans and escalate issues as needed.
• Conduct regular program reviews and report updates to senior management.
• Maintain documentation compliance with design controls and quality systems.
• Champion phase‑gate processes and continuous improvement in project management.
• Facilitate communication among global teams, vendors and external partners.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of program management experience in R&D or product development.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders, manage risks and govern projects.
• Experience with design control, risk management and quality assurance in regulated environments (ISO, FDA, CE).
• PMP certification highly desirable.

Required skills

• Waterfall methodology (strong command).
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum or hybrid models.
• MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet.
• Regulatory standards knowledge: ISO, FDA, CE.
• Hardware/software co‑development lifecycle and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
