Regional Controller – Commercial Finance

About the role

The Regional Controller (Commercial Finance) will act as a strategic finance partner for a multinational client operating in the shipping sector. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own financial control and operational excellence across the region while working closely with the Managing Director and key customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a regional finance team to deliver accurate reporting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Maintain robust controls, risk monitoring and compliance with Group policies and payment governance.
• Partner with regional leadership, commercial and operations teams to provide analytical insight and commercial challenge.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and rolling outlook processes, analysing profitability to identify pricing and cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Develop dashboards and business‑intelligence tools to monitor commercial viability and support restructuring initiatives.
• Support the creation of commercial models and contracting frameworks for existing and prospective clients.
• Ensure statutory reporting and policy compliance, acting as the regional finance lead for stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Degree qualified with strong regional experience in commercial finance.
• Proven business‑partnering skills with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and adaptability.
• Experience supporting MD/GM closely and working with customers is advantageous.
• Interest or exposure to the shipping industry is helpful.
