Registered Nurse – Career Conversion Programme (Degree)

About the role

This position is part of the Career Conversion Programme for Registered Nurses holding a nursing degree. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care in the Enhanced Care Area and supporting patients from admission through discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate general nursing care for patients in the Enhanced Care Area, acting as RN in‑charge.
• Collect clinical and psychosocial data, apply clinical reasoning and critical thinking to identify health conditions and risks.
• Set measurable short‑ and long‑term goals, plan evidence‑based interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness.
• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team using SBAR and coordinate discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide standardized patient and family education, supporting junior nurses in education activities when needed.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, including enrolled nurses, student nurses and healthcare assistants, in safe patient care delivery.
• Document nursing processes accurately, advocate for patients, and uphold professional, legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in unit‑level quality improvement projects and continue professional development by achieving CPE points.

Required profile

• Fresh or entry‑level Registered Nurse with a nursing degree.
• Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board and eligible to work in Singapore.
• Strong clinical reasoning, critical thinking and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication skills, including use of SBAR for handovers.
• Willingness to mentor junior staff and engage in continuous learning.
