Relationship Manager - Private Banking (Japanese Speaking)

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Relationship Manager for its Private Banking division, based in Singapore. The RM is the main point of contact between the bank and its clients, acting as an external ambassador and managing a portfolio of High Net Worth and/or Ultra High Net Worth private clients. The role covers wealth management solutions, routine enquiries and transactions, client acquisition, and risk and compliance management.

Key responsibilities

• Serve clients with high quality, responding promptly and professionally, and tailor the frequency and intensity of contact to each client's preference
• Provide investment advice in line with the bank's policies and asset allocation, and feed client feedback back to specialists so products and services can improve
• Take part in client initiatives, new marketing strategies and ad hoc projects requested by management
• Build and maintain a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients, deepen relationships and grow revenue through cross-selling and additional share of wallet
• Manage at-risk clients and develop succession strategies to reduce attrition and generational transfer losses
• Handle daily business risks, uphold a strong compliance and ethical culture, and escalate issues in a timely manner to front management or the second line of defence
• Maintain high KYC quality, clear documentation of client accounts, and keep pending items, alerts and notifications cleared

Required profile

• Proven track record in servicing a book of clients and acquiring new relationships
• Good interpersonal skills, open and approachable, able to relate to clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
• Persistent, persuasive, professional and able to work under pressure
• Autonomous planner who organises and carries out work independently
• Willingness to travel

Required skills

• Proficiency in Japanese to communicate with Japanese-speaking clients
• Familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment
• Sound commercial judgement and knowledge of global financial markets
• Ability to match client needs with appropriate product solutions
