Research Analyst Summer Internship 2027

About the role

Barclays' Research team in Singapore runs a summer internship programme for students who want to join its Research business. The intern contributes to the team's investment theses by doing financial analysis and providing insights that support senior colleagues in producing differentiated content for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse industry trends and company financials, and research sector trends that may affect company or sector recommendations
• Update financial models of covered companies using information from conference calls, press releases and other sources
• Assist with sector notes and reports on companies and industries followed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and take part in training and development programmes
• Cultivate relationships across the Research Department to share knowledge and best practice
• Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining financial models and industry databases, gathering and interpreting data, developing marketing materials for clients, learning the publication process of Barclays Research periodicals and interacting with sales and trading desks

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation between December 2027 and June 2028
• Ideally a GPA of 3.2 or above
• Strong interest in business and finance; no specific subject required
• Resourcefulness, team orientation, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit shown through extracurricular activities
• Legal right to work in Singapore; applicants holding a Barclays-sponsored visa or needing sponsorship must declare this
